About
HI! I am Bree Angela, a Designer and Textile Artist known for creating colorful, immersive, and interactive installations specifically designed for children. My work, often found in museums and public spaces, focuses on “playful design” that encourages exploration through touch and imagination. I make costumes, creatures, and soft, sensory filled fantastical worlds that connect children with nature and to the magic of the world around them.
I hold a BFA from Pratt Institute in Visual Communications Design, along with certifications in Interior Design, ABA ESDM Play Therapy, the Reggio-Emilia Approach to Early Childhood Education, plus Floral Design. I use these skills to guide both the aesthetic design and the therapeutic and developmental aspects of my designs for children.
My career spans across the fashion, toy, and commercial art industries, as well as 25+ years of experience as an Art Educator in inner-city communities across the country.
My goal is to reimagine the ways we design for and educate children within public spaces. I hope to bring more play, risk, community and joy to the forefront of designing and making for children. I am committed to helping children expand their imagination and potential through the power of play.
